Westfield Riccarton

Westfield is undertaking a redevelopment of their centre located in the South Island.

Aden Electrical has been awarded the tender as main electrical contractor for the redevelopment and expansion to Westfield Riccarton.

The project commenced in October 2008 for Aden Electrical and the proposed completion is May 2009. In eight months since commencement the new mall will be completed. The new mall area has been built on the existing structure adding a second level which required major structural enforcement that could provide up to 40 new stores.

The project comprises all Electrical, Security and Communications Services including the relocation of two Transformers and associated Main Switch Boards running the existing centre. Given that the construction activity is taking place above an operating mall careful consideration to the planning was critical. At all times respect was required to be given to the trading mall and as a result a lot of work hours were after the mall had traded. The value of this project is in excess of 2 million dollars.
